Short CV
Hourig Torossian studied Fine Arts (Painting) in the U.K. and gained a first class BA honors degree from Wimbledon School of Art and an MA degree in Fine Arts from the Royal College of Art in London. Since graduating in 1994 she has been an active artist exhibiting work in Cyprus, Greece and the U.K. In 2005 she represented Cyprus in Austria, highlighting artist’s works from the ten new E.U. member states. She is a member of the Cyprus Chamber of Fine Arts (1995 – present). and an active member of The Cyprus Printmakers Association (2015 – present). She has participated in a number of international Print Festivals. Her most recent solo exhibition entitled ‘On Paper’ took place in 2018 at S:242 in Nicosia where she presented a series of large scale works on paper with the theme developed from decorative aspects of architectural features found around the old town of Nicosia. Her work revolves around her immediate environment drawing attention to particular places and sights. She is currently an Associate Professor at Frederick University teaching art and design related subjects on the BA and MA programs of study within the Fine and Applied Arts Department.
