Dr Ioannis Violaris is the Dean of the School of Economic Sciences and Administration and an Associate Professor of Economics at Frederick University. He has earned his BA in Economics at the American University of Beirut, his MSc in International Management and his PhD in Economics, at the Kensington University. He is the author of the book 'Economics, a bilingual approach' and the co-author in three other books: ‘Female Immigrant Entrepreneurs: The economic and social impact of a Global phenomenon’, ‘Entrepreneurship and Sustainability: Business Solutions for Poverty Alleviation from around the World’ and ‘Governance and Sustainability in the Immigrant Family Business: Leveraging Entrepreneurship, Culture and Family Dynamics’ He is regularly publishing in peer reviewed journals and presenting his work in European conferences, while through the Erasmus program he had the opportunity to lecture at a number of European universities, such as in Belgium, Greece and Portugal. He has a cumulative lecturing experience of 35 years, both at undergraduate as well as at graduate level and has acted as Advisor for Middlesex University overseeing the completion of doctoral degrees. He is regularly presenting his views on current economic issues in local magazines and newspapers as well as on TV live discussions at all major TV stations in Cyprus and occasionally abroad. His main research interest is the application of economic theory in offering solutions to current economic problems.
