Dr. Photos Vryonides

Short CV

Photos Vryonides (PhD) received the BEng, M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), UK, in 1998, 1999, and 2002 respectively. He is a member of the teaching and research staff of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics teaching in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs and also a senior researcher at Frederick Research Center (FRC). He also teaches in the MSc in Marine Engineering and Management and in the professional training program Engineer Officer of the Watch (EOOW) offered by the Cyprus Marine Technology Academy (CyMarTa) of Frederick University. Dr. Vryonides is member of the Antennas and Microwaves research group and his research interests span: reconfigurable microwave filters, antennas, mixers, LNAs, PAs, broadband amplifiers, millimeter-wave couplers, and low phase noise oscillators. He is also a Senior member of IEEE, a member of the Technical Chamber of Cyprus and has been a Cyprus delegate in the management committee of COST IC0803 (RF/Microwave Communication Subsystems for Emerging Technologies) Action and currently in CA18223(Future Communications with Higher-Symmetric Engineered Artificial Materials). Photos has authored or co-authored more than 75 papers in journals and peer reviewed conferences. He serves as reviewer for IEEE Microwave Wireless Technology Letters, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I and II, and IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques. Currently he is an associate editor for IEEE Access and IEEE Open Journal of Circuits and Systems. He also serves regularly as TPC member for MOCAST and IMFW international conferences and was also in the organizing committee and served as track editor for RF and Wireless Circuits and Systems for MWSCAS 2023.

Ο Φώτος Βρυωνίδης (PhD) απέκτησε τους τίτλους BEng, M.Phil και Ph.D. στην Ηλεκτρολογία και Ηλεκτρονική Μηχανική από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Μάντσεστερ Ινστιτούτο Επιστήμης και Τεχνολογίας (UMIST), Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, το 1998, 1999 και 2002 αντίστοιχα. Είναι μέλος του διδακτικού και ερευνητικού προσωπικού του Τμήματος Ηλεκτρολογίας, Μηχανολογίας και Πληροφορικής, διδάσκοντας στα προπτυχιακά και μεταπτυχιακά προγράμματα και επίσης είναι ανώτερος ερευνητής στο Frederick Research Center (FRC). Διδάσκει επίσης στο Μεταπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα Μηχανικής και Διοίκησης Ναυτιλίας και στο επαγγελματικό πρόγραμμα κατάρτισης Engineer Officer of the Watch (EOOW) που προσφέρεται από την Κυπριακή Ακαδημία Τεχνολογίας Ναυτιλίας (CyMarTa) του Frederick University. Ο Δρ. Βρυωνίδης είναι μέλος της ομάδας έρευνας Κεραιών και Μικροκυμάτων και τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα εκτείνονται σε: αναδιαμορφώσιμα φίλτρα μικροκυμάτων, κεραίες, LNAs, PAs, ευρυζωνικοί ενισχυτές, συζευκτές υπερυψηλών συχνοτήτων και ταλαντωτές με χαμηλό θόρυβο φάσης. Είναι επίσης Ανώτερο μέλος της IEEE, μέλος του Τεχνικού Επιμελητηρίου Κύπρου και ήταν εκπρόσωπος της Κύπρου στη διοικητική επιτροπή της δράσης COST IC0803 (RF/Microwave Communication Subsystems for Emerging Technologies) και είναι εκπρόσωπος στη δράση CA18223 (Future Communications with Higher-Symmetric Engineered Artificial Materials). Ο Φώτος έχει συγγράψει ή συν-συγγράψει περισσότερα από 75 άρθρα σε περιοδικά και διασκέψεις με κριτές. Λειτουργεί ως αξιολογητής για τα περιοδικά IEEE Microwave Wireless Technology Letters, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I και II, και IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques. Προς το παρόν είναι αναπληρωτής συντάκτης για το IEEE Access και το IEEE Open Journal of Circuits and Systems. Επίσης, συμμετέχει τακτικά ως μέλος TPC για τα διεθνείς συνέδρια MOCAST και IMFW και ήταν επίσης μέλος της οργανωτικής επιτροπής και υπεύθυνος ενότητας για τα RF and Wireless Circuits and Systems για το MWSCAS 2023.
