Dr Papadopoulos has over 25 years experience in TEACHING and practicing structural and foundation design of building and civil engineering structures. Dr. Papadopoulos teaches in undergraduate and postgraduate programs of studies in the School of Engineering and particularly in Civil Engineering Department of Frederick University. He has served Frederick University from various positions such as Dean of the School of Engineering, Head of the Civil Engineering Department and member of various senate committees. He is co-founder of P. Papadopoulos Consulting Engineers a leading consulting firm in Cyprus. As a practicing engineer Dr Papadopoulos has been responsible for the design of buildings, bridges, silos and other industrial, reinforced or pre-stressed concrete, steel, timber, cable and membrane structures worldwide. He is serving on various national and international committees for code development including the Eurocode program. He has served as President of the Cyprus Association of Civil Engineers and member of the General Council of the Cyprus Chamber of Science and Technology. Dr Papadopoulos is co-inventor of a successful European Patent. His main research interests are in the areas of dynamic soil-structure interaction, structural design and retrofit, bridge and silo engineering, and dynamic behavior of structures and he has published numerous articles and technical reports on these subjects.
