Stella Evangelidou is a practicing architect and an adjunct faculty member at the Frederick University, in Nicosia, Cyprus. She has Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Waterloo, in Canada and a Master’s degree in History and Theory of Art, from the Cyprus University of Technology. Her education was enhanced with extra studies in Interior Design, Cultural Criticism and Fine Arts, in Toronto and New York. Her studio is a multidisciplinary practice, combining architecture, art, product design and research, with distinctions in architecture and furniture competitions, in Cyprus and abroad. She participated in several architectural conferences and group art exhibitions, has been the curator for architectural exhibitions and conferences and the editor of a publication on architectural competitions in Cyprus. Stella taught studio and theoretical courses in architecture at the Frederick University (2010-today) and at the University of Nicosia (2008-2010). Her field of research concerns multidisciplinary approaches with emphasis on the cultural landscape, the artistic and the socio-political, as well as on Cypriot Modern architecture in relation to colonialism and the Mediterranean. Her active involvement in the commons lead her in participating in various committees for the promotion of architecture. She has been an honorary member of the Cyprus Architects’ Association (2017-2022), which she represents in various local scientific committees, the Union of Mediterranean Architects (UMAR, 2018-2025) and the international committee “International Women in Architecture’’ of the International Union of Architects (UIA, 2021-2023).
