CASE 25: Conference on the advancements in sustainable engineering

Frederick University announces the 1st Conference dedicated to the latest innovations in eco-friendly technologies and sustainable development. CASE 25 will be held on September 11-12, 2025, at the University's Limassol campus.

This pioneering event brings together leading researchers, academics, industry experts, and policymakers from around the world to share groundbreaking advancements and foster collaborative solutions in the field of sustainable engineering. CASE 25 aims to drive innovation and knowledge exchange on sustainable practices and technologies, with a special focus on addressing the pressing environmental challenges of our time.

The Conference covers a diverse range of topics centered around sustainability in engineering and built environments. Thematic areas include:

  • Sustainable Energy Technologies and Energy Economics
  • Climate Change and Environmental Impact
  • Smart Cities and IoT Solutions
  • Advanced Engineering and BioEngineering

Invited speakers are:

Professor Agatino Rizzo is an architect and urban planner, specializing in climate-sensitive urban design and planning. He is leading a 30-member research group at LuleĆ„ University of Technology, Sweden, exploring urban experiments, resource management, and sustainable cities. 

Professor Agis Papadopoulos is a Mechanical Engineering Professor at Aristotle University Thessaloniki, specializing in energy conservation, resource economics, and energy policy. He has led 56+ research projects and published 300+ papers. As Director of the Process Equipment Design Lab, he contributes to sustainable energy research. 

Professor Dan Doru MICU is a distinguished professor at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, specializing in electrical engineering, numerical methods, and green buildings. With extensive international teaching experience in Romania, the U.S., China, and Belgium, his research focuses on electromagnetics, energy efficiency, and power systems.

Professor Spyridon Pantelakis is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Patras and former Director of the Laboratory of Technology and Strength of Materials (2007-2020). He has held key academic and research leadership roles. Actively involved in Clean Aviation and Clean Hydrogen initiatives, he has led over 100 aeronautics projects, published extensively and organized major scientific conferences, contributing significantly to aerospace research and innovation.

Professor Konstantinos Komnitsas directs several laboratories at the Technical University of Crete. His expertise includes hydro- and bio-hydrometallurgy, waste management, soil decontamination, and environmental risk assessment.
