Frederick University congratulates the students of Kokkinochoria Gymnasium “Panos Ioannou” for winning 3rd place among students from nine European countries in the EU-CONEXUS International School Competition “Think Smart, Create Green!”.

Georgia Lefteri, Dimitra Pouzouki, Chrysovalanto Kyriakou, and Andreas Koumis stood out in the competition (age category 12–14) with their project “Desal Harvesting Tower,” a hydroponic tower made from materials destined for waste, featuring integrated solar panels and a desalination system. By incorporating recycled materials into a functional food production system, the Desal Harvesting Tower aims to reduce the environmental impact of waste, promote the circular economy, and support more sustainable urban living with respect for the environment.
