The “MSc in Curriculum Development and Instruction” aims at effectively preparing teachers and researchers thus making them able to respond to the increasing complexity of the educational and social environment and be able to provide effective teaching and quality learning experiences and opportunities to all students. Great emphasis is given on the students’ cognitive development and the use of different teaching methods, procedures and tools, appropriate for the different thinking, cognitive and learning styles. The program will help students acquire the necessary theoretical and scientific background of  effective teaching methodology and organization of powerful learning environments (conducive to interdisciplinarity)  in order to function as productive members in the educational system and fully meet the increasing demands of today’s and tomorrow's society. Finally, the program aims at equiping its students with advanced research skills and promotes research in the field of education especially in teaching methodology, interdisciplinarity and the social and pedagogical dimensions of education.

The language of instruction is Greek.

  1. Adapt to the constantly changing social reality that demands a flexible and adaptive educational system and educators that effectively promote educational policy.
  2. Demonstrate skills that exploit the benefits offered by technology in lesson planning and learning experiences.
  3. Demonstrate skills for investigating educational issues and design intervention programs for solving problematic situations in education.
  4. Apply a wide range of teaching methods, techniques and methodological approaches in order to be able to integrate various social issues in education.
  5. Engage in critical study of educational policy and educational programs or activities implemented in schools.
  6. Employ effective techniques for developing research programs within accepted ethical research guidelines.
  7. Demonstrate working knowledge skills in information and communication technologies, the use of multimedia and supervisory devices, both for learning purposes and exchanging information and facilitate students and educators’ access to pedagogy-related resources.
  8. Apply the results of educational research in schools and society in general. Develop innovative curriculum and teaching materials.
  9. Synthesize broad knowledge, skills, interconnections and epistemology in an educational setting.  

Occupational Profiles of the Graduates

The graduates of the Program will have the knowledge and skills required for the design and implementation of educational programmes with emphasis on using technology and on interdisciplinary values. Educators from all levels of formal education (Pre-school, primary education, secondary education, technical professional education) are expected to acquire the knowledge and expertise to act as hubs for education for the construction of powerful learning environments in their schools, or to be assigned consulting or curriculum development duties by educational authorities.
