OTHER PROJECT ACTIVITIES

(1) The development of materials to be used within formal and informal education settings to promote peace education, and for teacher professional development; (2) Narratives will be collected and preserved, creating an oral history archive concerning the events of 1960-1974 in Cyprus; (3) People who will hear the narratives of individuals who have lived through the events will learn that any peace education effort should engage people’s narratives and feelings; that multiplicity should be appreciated and single interpretations should be critiqued; (4) Research findings will be compared and contrasted with the findings of other projects such as those conducted by the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot side as described above; (5) It will provide an alternative approach to document the truth and contribute to reconciliation efforts; (6) The project will contribute to the advancement of oral history research
