Dr. Foteini Economidou Kranou

Dr. Fotini Economides Kranou is a Lecturer at the Department of Psychology and Social Work at Frederick University Cyprus where she has been a faculty member since 2017. Dr. Economides Kranou completed her Ph.D. at the University of Cyprus, both her Master’s Degree and her B.A at the University of Louisiana (USA). She teaches courses in the undergraduate program of the Department of Psychology and Social Sciences as well as in the distance postgraduate program of Special Education of the School of Education and Social Sciences of Frederick University Cyprus. Her research interests place emphasis in the subjects of counseling psychology and psychotherapy and more precisely on the factors that contribute to successful therapy outcomes, client-therapist interactions, the effectiveness of different counseling approaches and interventions for addressing mental health issues, AI applications and the clinical implementation and interventions of artificial intelligence in the mental health care, ethical and social implications. Her research activity is published in scientific journals, book chapters, books and is presented in conferences. As of 2021 she holds a position in the Board of Directors of the International Association of Psychology and Counseling (IAPC) and is the Chair of IAPC for Greece and Cyprus. She has been appointed as Editor in Chief of the Journal of the International Association of Psychology and Counseling.

Η Δρ. Φωτεινή Οικονομίδου Κράνου είναι Λέκτορας στο Τμήμα Ψυχολογίας και Κοινωνικών Επιστημών στο Frederick University Cyprus ως μέλος του διδακτικού προσωπικού από το 2017. Η Δρ Οικονομίδου Κράνου ολοκλήρωσε το διδακτορικό της στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου, το μεταπτυχιακό της και τις προπτυχιακές της σπουδές στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Λουιζιάνα (ΗΠΑ). Διδάσκει μαθήματα στο προπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα του Τμήματος Ψυχολογίας και Κοινωνικών Επιστημών καθώς και στο εξ’ αποστάσεως μεταπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα της Ειδικής Εκπαίδευσης της Σχολής Επιστημών Αγωγής και Κοινωνικών Επιστημών του Πανεπιστημίου. Τα ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα δίνουν έμφαση σε θέματα των τομέων της συμβουλευτικής ψυχολογίας και ψυχοθεραπείας και πιο συγκεκριμένα στους παράγοντες που συμβάλλουν στην επιτυχή έκβαση της θεραπείας, στις αλληλεπιδράσεις θεραπευόμενου-θεραπευτή, στην αποτελεσματικότητα των διαφορετικών θεραπευτικών προσεγγίσεων και παρεμβάσεων, στις στρατηγικές αντιμετώπισης και στην πρόληψη και θεραπεία θεμάτων ψυχικής υγείας και διαταραχών, εφαρμογές τεχνητής νοημοσύνης και την κλινική εφαρμογή του ΑΙ στον τομέα της ψυχικής υγείας, τις ηθικές και κοινωνικές του επιπτώσεις. Η ερευνητική της δραστηριότητα δημοσιεύεται σε επιστημονικά περιοδικά, κεφάλαια βιβλίων, βιβλία και παρουσιάζεται σε συνέδρια. Από το 2021 κατέχει θέση στο Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο του International Association of Psychology and Counseling (IAPC) και είναι Chair του IAPC για την Ελλάδα και την Κύπρο. Έχει διοριστεί ως Editor in Chief του επιστημονικού περιοδικού του IAPC.
