Dr Petroula Mavrikiou has received her PhD (1999) from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Cyprus, and her Diploma in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (Metsovio) in Greece in 1992. Currently she is an Associate Professor of Statistics at the Department of Business Administration of Frederick University while she provides teaching services in other Departments. Prior this position she worked as a lecturer at Frederick Institute of Technology (1999-2007) and as Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Cyprus (1993-1999). From 2007 to 2018 she has served as Head of the Business Administration Department of Frederick University. Her research interests focus, on mathematical statistics-probability inequalities, and limit theorems for dependent random variables, and on social and gender statistics. She is the Director of the Research Unit Gender Equality and Inclusion and she has implemented many national and EU funded projects and programs. Currently she is an MC member and Core Group member of two COST Actions. She has published papers in mathematical and applied statistics and has attended many workshops, seminars and conferences.
