Eliminating stereotypes
Gender mainstreaming and the elimination of stereotypes and bias in both the areas of Teaching and Research are fundamental principles at Frederick University.
The two sub-groups of the Center working on this issue have initiated a number of actions to promote equality and educate on gender-based violence.
Our university has initiated the process of mapping the integration of the gender dimension in teaching, course content, student assignments and gender-based violence education in curricula. This is the starting point of an overall effort to assess and improve the quality of education for our students and to enrich the academic experience for the benefit of the community.
In addition, the University took targeted measures to increase the participation of women researchers in its research programs. Specifically, in the calls for internal research project funding in September 2022 and December 2024, it was made a condition that "at least 40% of the budget will be allocated to fund proposals led by female professors, provided they meet the criteria". In addition, the latest call added that "proposals in STEM disciplines that include the proposed recruitment of a female researcher will receive an additional 1 point in their overall evaluation score".
