Dr. Nicos Koussis

Short CV

Dr. Nicos Koussis is an Associate of Finance at Frederick University and holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Cyprus. He was awarded a first prize grant from the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation for his PhD research. He has presented in numerous international conferences and has publications in refereed journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, European Journal of Operational Research, European Journal of Finance and Annals of Operations Research among others. Dr. Koussis has been a visiting research fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has been a visiting instructor/reader at the University of California, Berkeley at the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and Masters in Financial Engineering programs. He has previously lectured at the University of Cyprus and he is currently teaching finance courses at undergraduate and graduate level at Frederick University. Dr. Koussis area of expertise is real options with applications in corporate finance. His research focuses on optimal investment and financing decisions with default risk, mergers and acquisitions involving growth options with optimal capital structure, valuation of credit lines, dividend policy and real options in the supply chain.

Ο Δρ. Νίκος Κούσης είναι Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο Frederick και κάτοχος διδακτορικού διπλώματος στα Χρηματοοικονομικά από το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. Έχει λάβει χρηματοδότηση από το Ίδρυμα Προώθησης Έρευνας Κύπρου για τη διδακτορική του έρευνα. Έχει παρουσιάσει σε διεθνή συνέδρια και έχει δημοσιεύσεις σε έγκριτα περιοδικά όπως το Journal of Banking and Finance, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, European Journal of Operational Research, European Journal of Finance and Annals of Operations Research μεταξύ άλλων. Ο Δρ. Κούσης υπήρξε επισκέπτης ερευνητής στο Ινστιτούτο Τεχνολογίας της Μασαχουσέτης και υπήρξε επισκέπτης στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Καλιφόρνιας, Berkeley στα προγράμματα Masters in Business Administration (MBA) και Masters in Financial Engineering. Έχει διδάξει στο παρελθόν στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου και σήμερα διδάσκει χρηματοοικονομικά μαθήματα σε προπτυχιακό και μεταπτυχιακό επίπεδο στο Πανεπιστήμιο Frederick. Ο τομέας εξειδίκευσης του Δρ. Κούση είναι στον τομέα επενδύσεων χρησιμοποιώντας την μεθοδολογία real με εφαρμογές σε εταιρική πολιτική επενδύσεων και χρηματοδότησης. Η έρευνά του επικεντρώνεται σε βέλτιστες επενδυτικές και χρηματοδοτικές αποφάσεις με κίνδυνο αθέτησης υποχρεώσεων, συγχωνεύσεις και εξαγορές που περιλαμβάνουν επιλογές ανάπτυξης με βέλτιστη κεφαλαιακή διάρθρωση, αποτίμηση πιστωτικών γραμμών, μερισματική πολιτική και βέλτιστές επιλογές στην αλυσίδα εφοδιασμού.
