Dr. Charalambos Balis

Short CV

Charalampos Balis is a graduate of the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds a Master’s Degree and Ph.D. Degree in Health Informatics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has worked as a specialized scientist in Health Informatics with teaching duties in the School of Health Sciences of the Cyprus University of Technology and in the Open University of Cyprus in the Postgraduate Program: Applied Health Informatics and Telemedicine. He has been worked for many years as Scientific-Laboratory Associate in Health Informatics Laboratory of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Nursing. He is member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff of the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly. Furthermore, he is a collaborative academic staff at Frederick University in Cyprus and is teaching distance learning courses at the program of study. His teaching experience in higher education relates to the following subjects: health technology and computing, telemedicine, patient data management systems, health decision support systems, electronic patient records, biostatistics, health research methodology, etc. His research interests are mainly focused on health informatics, health information systems evaluation, biomedical data analysis and processing, health informatics education and training, health data security, electronic health, etc.
