Dr. Spyridon-Georgios Soulis is Professor of Special Education at the Department of Primary Education, School of Education, University of Ioannina, Greece. He holds a PhD in Special Pedagogy from the University of Cologne, Germany. Dr. Soulis has most of thirty years of research, writing and working experience with students with disabilities. His research interests include: special education, inclusive education, disabilities, and especially intellectual disabilities. He has published, presented, and trained educators in these areas, as well as he serves on the editorial boards of scientific journals. Dr. Soulis has published monographies, peer reviewed articles and presents internationally on the topics of special education, inclusive education, teachers’ training and parents’ training regarding disabilities. He is the director of the laboratory of Special Education and the director of the Postgraduate Program in Special Education at the Department of Primary Education, University of Ioannina, where he works with undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. Since 2022, he works as Collaborative Academic Staff at Frederick University in the distance learning program of Special Education.
