Elina Kitiri teaches a variety of laboratory courses, including toxicology laboratory, biochemistry laboratory, cosmetic chemistry and technology laboratory, pharmaceutical technology laboratory, etc. as a Special Teaching Staff at the Department of Pharmacy of Frederick University Cyprus.Holding a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry with a specialization in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Cyprus, Elina embarked on her academic journey after serving as an Analytical Chemist – Quality Control Analyst at Medochemie Ltd from 2017 to 2018. Since 2018, she has been an integral part of the academic community at Frederick University. Initially, from 2018 to 2022, she served as a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Pharmacy, where she contributed to the education of future pharmacists. In 2021, Elina transitioned to a research role at the Frederick Research Center (FRC) as a Post-Doctoral researcher. Her research endeavors have been diverse, ranging from contributing to the European Program “Development of natural soap from Saponaria plants” to participating in the European Program “Development of novel polymeric nanocarrier drug delivery system for melanoma therapy”, both funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF). Additionally, she engaged in an internal research project titled "Synthesis and Characterization of Bio-inspired Polymeric Membranes with Anti-microbial and Anti-fouling Properties”. The outcome of her PhD studies has been remarkable, with the publication of many scientific articles in distinguished journals, highlighting her contributions to the field of Polymer Chemistry. During her doctoral studies, Elina also served as a teaching assistant at the University of Cyprus, further honing her skills in academia. Her commitment to education extended to overseeing the dissertations of three undergraduate students in various Polymer Science research areas. Elina's academic achievements have been recognized with two academic scholarships from the University of Cyprus and the 1st Prize in the international competition “SABIC innovation challenge”. Notably, she contributed a chapter to the “Amphiphilic Polymer Co-networks” book published by the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2020. With a passion for teaching and research, Elina continues to inspire and continues to inspire and contribute to the academic community at Frederick University, Cyprus.

Κατέχοντας Διδακτορικό Δίπλωμα (PhD) στη Χημεία με ειδίκευση τα Πολυμερή από το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου, η Ελίνα ξεκίνησε το ακαδημαϊκό της ταξίδι μετά από την εργασία της ως Αναλύτρια Ποιοτικού Ελέγχου στη Medochemie Ltd από το 2017 έως το 2018. Από το 2018, αποτελεί αναπόσπαστο μέρος της ακαδημαϊκής κοινότητας στο Πανεπιστήμιο Frederick. Αρχικά, από το 2018 έως το 2022, εργάσθηκε ως Επισκέπτρια Καθηγήτρια στο Τμήμα Φαρμακευτικής, συνεισφέροντας στην εκπαίδευση των μελλοντικών φαρμακοποιών. Από το 2021 μέχρι το 2023, εργάσθηκε στο Ερευνητικό Κέντρο Frederick (FRC) ως Μεταδιδακτορική ερευνήτρια. Οι ερευνητικές της προσπάθειες ήταν ποικίλες, από τη συνεισφορά στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πρόγραμμα «Ανάπτυξη φυσικού σαπουνιού από φυτά Saponaria» έως τη συμμετοχή στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πρόγραμμα «Ανάπτυξη νέου συστήματος παροχής πολυμερικών νανοφορέων για τη θεραπεία μελανώματος», και τα δύο χρηματοδοτούμενα από το Ίδρυμα Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας (RIF). Επιπλέον, ασχολήθηκε με το εσωτερικό ερευνητικό έργο με τίτλο "Σύνθεση και Χαρακτηρισμός Βιοεμπνευσμένων Πολυμερικών Μεμβρανών με Αντι-μικροβιακές Ιδιότητες». Αξιοσημείωτο είναι ότι, κατά τη διάρκεια της διδακτορικής της διατριβής είχε λάβει δύο υποτροφίες από το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου (2015, 2016) και είχε επίσης κερδίσει το πρώτο βραβείο στον ευρωπαϊκό διαγωνισμό καινοτομίας της εταιρίας Sabic (2013). Η έρευνά της παρουσιάστηκε σε πολλά διεθνή επιστημονικά συνέδρια και περιοδικά.
