Mr. Charis Christodoulou

Short CV

Charis (1981) grew up in Paphos, Cyprus. He graduated from the University of Patras, Department of Architecture (2005) and continued his post-graduate studies in Urban Design receiving an MAS-UD, ETH-Zurich (2008). During 2006-2011 he worked as an architect in various architectural offices in Cyprus. In collaboration with Aggela Zisimopoulou, he participated at the 11th International Architecture Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia (2008) with the project “Light and Shadow – Oases of Relaxation” as part of the national participation of Cyprus and co-curated the exhibition “Through a Broken Mirror – The Architecture of Zenon Sierepeklis” at the Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre (2009). Since 2009 he teaches architectural theory and design at the department of Architecture, Frederick University. He has also taught Architectural Design and Landscape Architecture at the Department of Architecture, University of Cyprus. He co-curated the National Participation of Cyprus entitled Revisit at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia (2012). Since 2011 he is a Partner Architect of NOA architects. Charis has published articles in local and international magazines. He has been a member of juries in architectural competitions and the 2019 Architectural State Awards. In 2022 he received the Architectural State Awards in the Category Collective Housing for the completed project of his office «Poly-Katoikia in Nicosia - It’s Nice». Since 2011 he is a Founding Partner Architect in NOA architects.

Ο Χάρης (1981) μεγάλωσε στην Πάφο της Κύπρου. Αποφοίτησε από το Τμήμα Αρχιτεκτόνων Μηχανικών του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών (2005) και συνέχισε τις μεταπτυχιακές του σπουδές στον Αστικό Σχεδιασμό λαμβάνοντας MAS-UD, ETH-Zurich (2008). Την περίοδο 2006-2011 εργάστηκε ως αρχιτέκτονας σε διάφορα αρχιτεκτονικά γραφεία στην Κύπρο. Σε συνεργασία με την Αγγέλα Ζησιμοπούλου, συμμετείχε στην 11η Διεθνή Έκθεση Αρχιτεκτονικής La Biennale di Venezia (2008) με το πρότζεκτ «Φως και Σκιά – Οάσεις Χαλάρωσης» στα πλαίσια της εθνικής συμμετοχής της Κύπρου και συνεπιμελήθηκε την έκθεση «Μέσα από έναν Σπασμένο Καθρέφτη – Η Αρχιτεκτονική του Ζήνωνα Σιερεκκλή» στο Δημοτικό Κέντρο Τεχνών Λευκωσίας (2009). Από το 2009 διδάσκει αρχιτεκτονική θεωρία και σχεδιασμό στο τμήμα Αρχιτεκτονικής του Πανεπιστημίου Frederick. Έχει επίσης διδάξει Αρχιτεκτονικό Σχεδιασμό και Αρχιτεκτονική Τοπίου στο Τμήμα Αρχιτεκτονικής του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου. Συνεπιμελήθηκε την Εθνική Συμμετοχή της Κύπρου με τίτλο Revisit στη 13η Διεθνή Έκθεση Αρχιτεκτονικής La Biennale di Venezia (2012). Από το 2011 είναι Partner Architect της NOA architects. Ο Χάρης έχει δημοσιεύσει άρθρα σε τοπικά και διεθνή περιοδικά. Έχει διατελέσει μέλος κριτικών επιτροπών σε αρχιτεκτονικούς διαγωνισμούς και στα Κρατικά Βραβεία Αρχιτεκτονικής 2019. Το 2022 έλαβε τα Κρατικά Βραβεία Αρχιτεκτονικής στην κατηγορία Συλλογική Κατοικία για το ολοκληρωμένο έργο του γραφείου του «Πολυκατοικία στη Λευκωσία - Είναι Ωραία». Από το 2011 είναι Ιδρυτικός Εταίρος Αρχιτέκτονας στο NOA architects.
