Dr. Costas Kyriacou holds a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of New York, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cyprus University. He is a Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics at Frederick University, Cyprus. From 1988 to 2006 he was with the faculty of the Computer Engineering Department of Frederick Institute of Technology (Cyprus). Since 1998 he is also a member of the Frederick Research Center research staff. His research interests are related to the fields of computer architecture, distributed and parallel processing, reconfigurable computing techniques and smart systems, while he is the founder of the High Performance Computing and Embedded Smart Systems Research Lab (HiPCES). Prof. Kyriacou is a member of the group that developed the Data-Driven Multithreading model and he developed the Data-Driven Network of Workstations. He has participated as principal investigator or research associate in more than ten research projects funded by the Research Promotion Foundation of Cyprus, the European Union and others, in areas related to threaded DataFlow architectures, cache optimizations, reconfigurable computing techniques as well as smart systems.
