Online seminar by the EU-CONEXUS Coastal Engineering Institute
Doctoral research by Frederick University to be presented during EU-CONEXUS seminar.
EU-CONEXUS European Universities alliance invites all University partners to participate at the 1st Seminar of the EU-CONEXUS Coastal Engineering Institute on Doctoral Research, held online on 24th of October, 3p.m (CET).
The event aims to present the doctoral research conducted in Universities of the EU-CONEXUS community, among which our University.
Specifically, the seminar will present the doctoral research conducted on the topic of Smart Urban Coastal Sustainabilty (SmUCS) at the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, it will offer an overview of the postgraduate research in Engineering and Computing at the South East Technological University and it will provide information on doctoral research conducted at Frederick University.
Associate Professor Florin Baltărețu, UTCB Vice-rector and Chair of Coastal Engineering Institute and Prof. Loretta Batali, UTCB Vice-rector for Doctoral Studies and Co-chair of EU-CONEXUS PhD Level Joint Actions will address the event.
On behalf of Frederick University the presenters will be:
• Mr Savvas Evripides, Research and Innovation Officer, PDSO Officer, Frederick University: Research and Research Teams in Coastal Engineering
• Prof. Milton Demosthenous, Director of the Engineering Laboratories, Co-Coordinator of MSc in Conservation and Restoration of Historical Structures and Monuments: Vulnerability and pathology of Civil Engineering Structures in Coastal Environments
• Associate Prof. Marios Pelekanos, Vice-Chair of the Department of Architecture, Co-Leader of Architectural Technology Research Unit and Research Unit for Historical Constructional Systems: Structures between Land and Sea: Design, Implementation and Sustainability Issues
Researchers and PhD supervisors are invited to participate, as the seminar offers a great opportunity to establish contacts and expand their network with fellow colleagues from the partner Universities.
