Excluding the numerous opportunities that Cyprus offers for leisure activities, Frederick University aims at supporting students in order to enjoy an active and vibrant social life. Students enjoy weekend or vacation excursions to the countryside. Such outings offer opportunities to meet and socialize with fellow students and staff away from the routine of the classroom. There are also opportunities to learn traditional Cyprus dances and songs and to participate in theatrical plays. Musical evenings and folk programs are often organized at selected nightspots.
Participation in Clubs and Societies at Frederick University
Students need to strike a balance between their academic and social involvement. The Counselling Center supports students to meet this need through participation in student clubs and societies, which give students the opportunity to participate in many social and cultural activities. Getting involved is a good way for students to meet new friends and make the most of their stay as part of the Frederick University community. Participation in clubs and societies exposes students to new life experiences, helps them develop valuable leadership skills and abilities and provides opportunities for them to express creativity and talent.
All students are de- facto members of the Student Union. The main objectives of the Student Union are to promote the general welfare of the student community, to encourage participation in the various activities at Frederick University, to broaden the educational experience of all students and to represent students at the various committees of the University. The Union is very active in promoting communication and understanding among students with different origins and cultures.
