Get to know our neighbourhoods

Frederick University is operating campuses in two cities, one in Nicosia, the island’s capital, and the other in the coastal city of Limassol.
Read on as there’s lots to discover in and beyond our campus areas.
Nicosia Campus

Nicosia, Cyprus’ largest city and the island’s capital, is a modern, bustling, historical city with loads to discover. The city’s best shops, restaurants, bars, arts and leisure venues are within easy access to our students, as the campus is located in the heart of the city, just a few minutes from the city centre and the old town and right next to the most up and coming neighbourhood, Kaimakli. Although it’s centrally located, the campus area remains quiet and relaxed, projecting a laid-back, suburban vibe that is ideal for student living.

“The atmospheric traditional old yellow stone houses and the laid-back vibe of this little village-inside-a-city make you feel as though you are in a different city or country altogether making a trip into Kaimakli seem like a vacation away from reality. Home to a host of local characters and well-known Cypriots such as the capital’s oldest barber, Johnny, urban development NGO, Urban Gorillas, Monsieur Doumani’s tzouras player Antonis, and Cypriot fashion designer Georgia Moditi, Kaimakli has become a melting pot of creativity, free thinking and political activism. And the in-the-know residents of this cosy neighbourhood had the right idea. With its little coffee shops, theatres, dances studios and artists workshops, Kaimakli is as culturally rich as it is hospitable, warm and welcoming. And yes, it’s fast becoming one of the coolest areas to hang out in the capital!” - My Cyprus Insider
