Η Δρ. Ηλέκτρα Λειψού είναι κάτοχος διδακτορικού διπλώματος (PhD) στα Αναλυτικά Προγράμματα και τη Διδασκαλία, μεταπτυχιακού διπλώματος στην Εκπαιδευτική Ηγεσία και Διοίκηση από το Πανεπιστήμιο Saint Louis (Η.Π.Α.) και πτυχίου Ελληνικής Φιλολογίας με ειδίκευση στη Μεσαιωνική και Νεότερη Λογοτεχνία από το Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης. Ξεκίνησε την καριέρα της ως καθηγήτρια Ελληνικών, διδάσκοντας λογοτεχνία, έκθεση και την ελληνική ως δεύτερη/ξένη γλώσσα. Από το 2021, εργάζεται στο Πανεπιστήμιο Frederick ως συνεργαζόμενο εκπαιδευτικό προσωπικό διδάσκοντας στα Προπτυχιακά Προγράμματα Σπουδών της Σχολής Επιστημών της Αγωγής και Κοινωνικών Επιστημών και στα Εξ Αποστάσεως Μεταπτυχιακά Προγράμματα «Διοίκηση και Ηγεσία Σχολικών Μονάδων» και «Επιστήμες της Αγωγής: Αναλυτικά Προγράμματα και Διδασκαλία» του Τμήματος Επιστημών της Αγωγής. Τα ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα εστιάζονται, κυρίως, στους παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν την επίδοση και τα συναισθήματα των μαθητών κατά τη συγγραφή έκθεσης και στην χρήση αποτελεσματικών μεθόδων για τη βελτίωση των δεξιοτήτων γραφής και εξοικείωσης με τη διαδικασία παραγωγής γραπτού λόγου. Γενικότερα, η συναισθηματική πτυχή στη μάθηση αποτελεί τομέα υψηλού ενδιαφέροντος για τη Δρ. Λειψού. Επιπρόσθετα, αχολείται με τα επιστημονικά πεδία της εκπαιδευτικής διοίκησης και ηγεσίας, της συμπεριληπτικής εκπαίδευσης και των αναλυτικών προγραμμάτων.

Dr Electra Lipsou has obtained a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University (U.S.A.). She has also received a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Greek Literature with a specialization on Medieval and Modern Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She started her career teaching Modern Greek Literature, Composition Writing and Greek as a foreign language. Since 2021, Dr Lipsou has been a member of the Collaborating Academic Staff of Frederick University in Cyprus, where she teaches students of Undergraduate Programs of the School of Education and Social Sciences. Additionally, she teaches students of Distance Learning Programs, “Educational Administration and Leadership” and “Educational Studies: Curriculum & Instruction” offered by the Department of Education. Her research interests lie principally in the variables that may affect students’ writing performance and emotions toward composition writing. She is highly interested in applying new methods in an attempt to improve students’ writing skills. Simultaneously, she examines strategies to assist students to overcome their ‘uneasy’ feelings toward composition writing and familiarize themselves with the process of writing. Generally, the emotional aspect in learning is an area of high interest for Dr Lipsou. Overall, her research interests focus on the scientific fields of school management, inclusive education, curriculum and instruction.
