Dr. Marianna Frangeskou

Short CV

"Dr Frangeskou joined Frederick University, Cyprus in September 2023, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration and the Department of Maritime Transport and Commerce, following six years of an academic career at Tilburg University, in the Netherlands. Dr Frangeskou got a PhD in Management from the University of Bath, School of Management. She also earned a MSc in Specialized Economic Analysis, Program in Health Economics at Barcelona Graduate School of Economics in Barcelona, Spain and a BSc Economics at the University of Cyprus, School of Economics. Her approach to research interests is, broadly, empirical and focuses on topics in healthcare operations management, service operations, and healthcare management. In particular, working closely with a hospital partner in the UK and Cyprus, she investigate how we can ensure that patients receive high-quality and safe care in today’s increasingly complex (i.e. multi-professional, multi-stakeholder, innovative, cost pressured, etc.) hospital systems. Marianna published in high-quality journals, such as International Production and Operations Management, International Journal of Production and Economics, and Business Research and authored/ co-authored papers (contributed and invited) presented at over 10 international conferences. She supervised many MSc students and taught Operations Management and Supply Chain courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students at Tilburg University and the University of Nicosia.
