Naval Architect and Marine Engineer, PhD, Technical Manager of Engitec Systems International Ltd. Research associate in 3 European integrated Projects, including "NATURALHY", "MOJO", "SUSY", and senior researcher in EU FP7 “MOSAIC, “LASHARE”, “FIXO3” and H2020 “ROBUST”, “HOLISHIP” and “ENDURUNS”. Senior researcher in two National projects, one for building a 350-700 bar CGH2 Pressure Vessel and the second “DEEP CO-HOUSE”. Work for the industry including, "SEA DIAMOND" wreckage oil removal and several ship salvage cases. Structural assessment of submersible "Compuerta", Engineering assessment of the Hellenic natural gas pipeline grid for the company DESFA. Consulting work for ARAMCO S.A. Strong Experimental background in material testing including, mechanical characterization, fracture toughness and fatigue testing, acoustic emission monitoring. Extensive experience in hydrogen related corrosion and failure, including mechanical, microstructural and fractographic aspects of corrosion and failure mechanisms. Strong structural analysis background, in marine structures and pipelines through the use of Finite Elements, Rules and Standards and common engineering practice. Also extensive experience in numerical simulation of failure including crack propagation. Established Expert for the EUs DIRECTORATE-GENERAL for REGIONAL POLICY in the appraisal, implementation and monitoring of Cohesion policy interventions as of 09/04/2014.
Teaching experience in National Technical University of Athens, School of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers. Subjects taught, “Reliability at sea”, “Fundamentals of Shipbuilding and Naval Architecture”.
