Dr. Andreas Poullikkas

Professor Andreas Poullikkas holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in mechanical engineering, a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degree in nuclear safety and turbomachinery, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in numerical analysis and a Doctor of Technology (D.Tech.) higher doctorate degree in energy policy and energy systems optimization from Loughborough University, U.K. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET). He is a Professor of Energy Systems at the School of Engineering, Frederick University and he was for several years the Chairman of the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) and the Chairman of the Cyprus Energy Strategy Council (both appointments by the President of Cyprus). In his professional career he has worked for academic institutions and for the industry, including as a Visiting Faculty member at Harvard University, USA, as a Professor of Power Systems and Chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Cyprus University of Technology and as an Assistant Manager at the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (founder and director of the Research and Development Department). Professor Poullikkas is the Associate Editor of journals Discover Energy (Springer Nature) and Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews (Elsevier), member of the Editorial Board of the journal Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments and author of various peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals, book chapters, conference proceedings and the author of ten books.

Ο Καθηγητής Ανδρέας Πουλλικκάς κατέχει πανεπιστημιακό δίπλωμα Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) στη Μηχανολογία, μεταπτυχιακό δίπλωμα Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) σε θέματα πυρηνικής ασφάλειας και στροβιλοµηχανών, διδακτορικό τίτλο Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) σε θέματα αριθμητικής ανάλυσης και ανώτερο διδακτορικό τίτλο Doctor of Technology (D.Tech.) σε θέματα βελτιστοποίησης ενεργειακών συστημάτων και ενεργειακής πολιτικής από το Loughborough University, Αγγλίας. Είναι Διακεκριμένο Μέλος του Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET). Κατέχει θέση Καθηγητή Ενεργειακών Συστημάτων στη Σχολή Μηχανής του Frederick University και ήταν για σειρά ετών ο Πρόεδρος της Ρυθμιστικής Αρχής Ενέργειας Κύπρου (ΡΑΕΚ) και Πρόεδρος του Συμβουλίου Ενεργειακής Στρατηγικής της Κύπρου. Στην επαγγελματική του καριέρα έχει δουλέψει σε ακαδημαϊκά ιδρύματα, όπως στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Χάρβαρντ, Καθηγητής Συστημάτων Ισχύος και Πρόεδρος του Τμήματος Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών, Μηχανικών Ηλεκτρονικών Υπολογιστών και Πληροφορικής στο Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου και στη βιομηχανία όπως Βοηθός Διευθυντής στην Αρχή Ηλεκτρισμού Κύπρου όπου ήταν ο ιδρυτής και προϊστάμενος του Τμήματος Έρευνας και Ανάπτυξης. Είναι συντάκτης των διεθνών έγκριτων περιοδικών Discover Energy (Springer Nature) και Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews (Elsevier), μέλος της συντακτικής επιτροπής του περιοδικού Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments και είναι ο συγγραφέας επιστημονικών δημοσιεύσεων σε διεθνή έγκριτα επιστημονικά περιοδικά και πρακτικά συνεδρίων και ο συγγραφέας δέκα βιβλίων.
