Η Δρ. Βασιλική Πλιόγκου έχει Πτυχίο Παιδαγωγικής του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών. Ολοκλήρωσε τις βασικές σπουδές της στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Γάνδης, με υποτροφία του Ι.Κ.Υ., στο Πρόγραμμα «Δικαιώματα Παιδιών». Έχει Μεταπτυχιακό Δίπλωμα Ειδίκευσης (M.Sc.) στη «Συγκριτική Εκπαίδευση και Ανθρώπινα Δικαιώματα» από το Τ.Ε.Α.Π.Η. του Ε.Κ.Π.Α. και του Institute of Education του Πανεπιστημίου του Λονδίνου. Επίσης, κατέχει Μεταπτυχιακό Δίπλωμα Ειδίκευσης (M.Sc.) του Πανεπιστημίου Δ. Μακεδονίας στη «Δίγλωσση Ειδική Αγωγή και Εκπαίδευση». Έχει εκπονήσει διδακτορική διατριβή στις Επιστήμες της Αγωγής στο Π.Τ.Δ.Ε.-Α.Π.Θ. Έχει εργαστεί ως διδάσκουσα ή/και μέλος ερευνητικών ομάδων στο Π.Τ.Δ.Ε. & Τ.Ε.Π.Α.Ε. Α.Π.Θ., στο Τ.Ε.Ε.Π.Η.-Δ.Π.Θ., στο Π.Τ.Ν. του Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων, στο ΕΑΠ και στην ΑΣΠΑΙΤΕ Θεσσαλονίκης. Είναι μέλος του Μητρώου Κύριου Διδακτικού Προσωπικού του Εθνικού Κέντρου Δημόσιας Διοίκησης και Αυτοδιοίκησης (Ε.Κ.Δ.Δ.Α.). Οι ανακοινώσεις και δημοσιεύσεις της διαπνέονται από τις αρχές, τις επιστημολογικές και μεθοδολογικές θεωρήσεις της Κοινωνικής Παιδαγωγικής, με έμφαση σε ζητήματα συνεργασίας οικογένειας-σχολείου, μορφών οικογενειακής οργάνωσης και της επίδρασής τους στην εκπαιδευτική επιτυχία των παιδιών, κοινωνικού φύλου και εκπαίδευσης, ειδικής αγωγής, συμπερίληψης και εκπαίδευσης στα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα. Από το 2011 είναι η Πρόεδρος της Ο.Μ.Ε.Ρ. (Παγκόσμια Οργάνωση Προσχολικής Αγωγής) Θεσσαλονίκης. Έχει διακριθεί με το Α΄ Βραβείο της Διεθνούς Επιτροπής της Ο.Μ.Ε.Ρ. για το 2016 στην Εκπαίδευση για την Αειφόρο Ανάπτυξη στο πλαίσιο του Global Action Programme της UNESCO, στο Πανεπιστήμιο Ewha Womans της Σεούλ, στην Κορέα.

Dr. Vassiliki Pliogou is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Early Childhood Education, in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Western Macedonia, Greece, on the subject of Pedagogy and Applications in Education. She is the Director of the Laboratory of the Pedagogical Studies and Innovative Educational Practices. She is also the ERASMUS Departmental Coordinator and the Deputy President of the Scientific Supervisory Board of the Pilot and Experimental Schools (EPS) in Kastoria. She is the Departmental Placement Coordinator, too. She received her BA in Pedagogy at the University of Patras. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Ghent in Belgium, with a scholarship from the Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation, in "Children's Rights" (1995). She has two Masters of Sciences, the first one on the subject of "Comparative Education and Human Rights" from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Institute of Education of the University of London and the second in "Bilingual Special Education" from the University of Western Macedonia. She received her PhD in Science Education from the Department of Primary Education in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2008). She had been for many years (1997 to present) academic staff and a member on research programs at the Democritus University of Thrace, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Ioannina, while she has a continuous cooperation with the Hellenic Open University, the School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (ASPETE) in Thessaloniki and the Frederick University of Cyprus. She was the Academic Coordinator of the School of Pedagogy at Metropolitan College of Thessaloniki, in collaboration with the University of East London, during the last decade. From 2012 till now, she is an independent expert and a member of the teaching staff of the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government (EKDDA). She is a reviewer in 12 Greek and International Journals. She has more than 100 presentations in Greek and International conferences and more than 90 publications in collective volumes, Greek and International Journals and proceedings, which focus on human rights education, childhood and children’s rights, citizenship, family-school connection, gender and educational implementations using different pedagogical tools in various formal and non-formal educational environments. She is the co-editor of 2 collective volumes entitled “Current trends of Pedagogical theory and practice. Democracy, citizenship and diversity” (Gutenberg, 2020) and “Children and Audiovisual means of Communication”(Teloglion Foundation of Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Cultural Institute of the Journalists’ Union of Macedonia and Thrace Daily, 2009). From 1998 till now, she has organised or co-organised events, such as conferences, seminars, educational activities which have been mainly addressed to students at the Department of Early Childhood and Primary Education, educators, preschool and primary school children and their families. Since 2011, she is the president of OMEP (World Organization for Early Childhood Education) in Central Macedonia. She has been awarded the first prize of the International Committee of OMEP for 2016 in Education for Sustainable Development under the UNESCO Global Action Programme, at the University of Ewha Womans in Seoul (S. Korea).
