Georgios Papagiouvannis works as Special Teaching Staff at the Pharmaceutical Department of Frederick University. He graduated in 2012 from the Pharmaceutical Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) (grade 8.36/10) and after that he was accepted as a postgraduate student at the same department. He completed his postgraduate studies in 2015, after the presentation of his diploma thesis “Design, synthesis and pharmacochemical evaluation of novel compounds with putative effect on neurodegenerative disorders”. As a PhD student (2015-2019), he received a scholarship for his studies from the Hellenic Foundation of Research and Innovation from August 2017 until May 2019. In December 2019 he successfully defended his PhD Thesis “Design and Pharmacochemical Evaluation of Novel Compounds with Putative Effect on Neurodegenerative Disorders”. His research interests are focused on the development of multi-target directed ligands for the effective treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s Disease. He has participated in various international conferences with poster and oral presentations and part of his research work has been published in international scientific journals of his field.
