Dr. Christodoulos Christodoulou was born in Pafos, Cyprus. He received the B.Sc. Degree (5-year study) in Chemical Engineering (1984) from the Polytechnic School of Thessaloniki, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, the M.Sc. Degree in Chemical Engineering (1987) from Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, USA, and the Ph.D. Degree in Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Science (1990) form Carnegie-Mellon University, Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. He was the first Director of Frederick Research Center and a faculty member at Frederick Institute of Technology (1995-2007). He is presently (since 2007) a Professor at Frederick University. He teaches in undergraduate and postgraduate programs of studies in the School of Engineering and particularly in Mechanical Engineering Department. Dr. Christodoulos Christodoulou has an Industrial experience working in many Industries, such as `TITAN` Cement Industry, Thessaloniki, Greece, Hellenic Sugar Industry, Thessaloniki, Greece, `SODAP` Wine Industry, Pafos, Cyprus and Mitsubishi Materials Corporation (5 years), Ohmiya, Japan and he is a Senior Research Consultant and co-owner of Hystore Technologies for many years. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Cyprus, a member of The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS), a member of the Hellenic Hydrogen Association and a full member of `The Scientific Research Society` Sigma Xi. His research interests and activities are in the fields of Energy and Materials: Hydrogen Production and Purification Technologies, Hydrogen Storage Technologies (metal-hydrides, compressed gas), Renewable Energy Sources (RES, Solar, Wind, Hydrogen), H2/Fuel Cells, Hydrogen Compression based on Metal-Hydrides, Electricity Production from Low-Temperature Waste Heat with the use of Metal-Hydrides, Integrated Hydrogen/RES systems, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), Materials Processing & Characterization, Micro- and Nano-crystalline Materials, Hydrogen Storage Materials, Magnetic Materials (Permanent Magnets) Dr. Christodoulou participated in many National and European research projects. He has over 70 scientific publications in refereed Journals and International Conferences, and 12 patents. He has collaborations with the local Cyprus industries such as, Electricity Authority of Cyprus, Nemitsas Ltd. Founders and Engineers, MUSKITA Aluminium Industries, Anaxagoras Pneumatics Ltd, Hystore Tech Ltd etc, and with foreign industries such as, Gas de France-France, INABENSA S.A.- Gascan-Spain, OWK-, SOLANDIS-, PLANET-Germany, IDS-Switzerland, Tropical S.A-Greece, Public Power Corporation of Greece-Greece, Fichtner GmbH & Co KG-Germany, Less Common Metals-UK, Magnequench AG-Switzerland, Magnetfabrik-Germany, etc. Professor Christodoulou participated in 18 research programs, 7 of them EU projects and 11 of them National programs. Currently (2019-2022), he is involved in two National Integrated projects related to Renewable Energy Sources and Hydrogen Technologies.
