Dr. Loukas Papadakis

Short CV

Dr.-Ing. Loucas Papadakis was awarded with both the Diplom and the Doctor Title in Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University Munich (TUM) in Germany in 2003 and 2008 respectively. He worked as a research associate from January 2004 until October 2008 at the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) of the Technical University Munich. He is a member of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Frederick University since Fall 2008 and currently possesses the position of Associate Professor. He is the Coordinator of the Program of Study “BSc in Automotive Engineering”. He gives lectures in the undergraduate Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Engineering programmes of studies as supervises PhD theses in the area of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. He is also active as a senior researcher at Frederick Research Center with expertise in advanced manufacturing process. Having gained a deep understanding in novel manufacturing processes through his close cooperation with the industries in Germany and Europe and by being involved in several research projects and industrial consortia, he succeeded to adapt manufacturing process sequences including their physical phenomena into a multi-stage structural simulation chain for light-weight structures by means of the finite element analysis. He served as the national point of contact for several European and national collaborations: in the area of automotive joining processes, of manufacturing of aero-engine components by means of additive manufacturing and for supporting midcaps and SMEs for uptaking additive manufacturing by bridging gaps in the digital process chain. He acted as a member of the management committee of the COST Action “Reliable roadmap for certification of bonded primary structures” CERTBOND (CA18120) focusing on the certification of bonded primary structures. Finally, he is currently participating as an initiator member of the AMable platform (amable.humhub.com). Dr. Papadakis is fluent in German, English and Greek.

O Δρ Λουκάς Παπαδάκης έλαβε το δίπλωμα και τον τίτλο του Διδάκτορος Μηχανολογίας Μηχανικής στο Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστήμιο του Μονάχου (TUM) στη Γερμανία το 2003 και το 2008 αντίστοιχα. Εργάστηκε ως επιστημονικός συνεργάτης από τον Ιανουάριο του 2004 έως τον Οκτώβριο του 2008 στο Ινστιτούτο Εργαλειομηχανών και Βιομηχανικής Διοίκησης (iwb) του Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστήμιο του Μονάχου. Είναι μέλος του Τμήματος Μηχανολόγων Μηχανικών του Πανεπιστημίου Frederick από το φθινόπωρο του 2008 και κατέχει τη θέση του Αναπληρωτή Καθηγητή. Είναι Συντονιστής του Προγράμματος Σπουδών «BSc in Automotive Engineering» και διδάσκει στα προπτυχιακά προγράμματα σπουδών Μηχανολόγων Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Αυτοκινήτων και επιπλέον επιβλέπει διδακτορικές διατριβές στον τομέα των Μηχανολόγων και Μηχανικών Κατασκευής. Δραστηριοποιείται επίσης ως ανώτερος ερευνητής στο Frederick Research Center με εξειδίκευση σε προηγμένες διαδικασίες παραγωγής. Έχοντας αποκτήσει βαθιά κατανόηση σε καινοτόμες διαδικασίες κατεργασίας μέσω της στενής συνεργασίας του με τις βιομηχανίες της Γερμανίας και της Ευρώπης και συμμετέχοντας σε ερευνητικά προγράμματα και βιομηχανικές κοινοπραξίες. Υπηρέτησε ως εθνικό σημείο επαφής για πολλές ευρωπαϊκές και εθνικές συνεργασίες για την κατασκευή εξαρτημάτων αεροκινητήρων μέσω τρισδιάστατης εκτύπωση και για την υποστήριξη των μικρομεσαίων επιχειρήσεων για την χρήση τεχνολογιών τρισδιάστατης εκτύπωσης. Ήταν μέλος της επιτροπής διαχείρισης της Δράσης COST «Αξιόπιστος οδικός χάρτης για την πιστοποίηση αξιόπιστων πρωτογενών κατασκευών» CERTBOND (CA18120). Τέλος, συμμετέχει ως ιδρυτικό μέλος της πλατφόρμας AMable (amable.humhub.com). Ο Δρ Παπαδάκης μιλάει άπταιστα Γερμανικά, Αγγλικά και Ελληνικά.
