Nikos G. Georgiou is an Assistant Professor in the in the Department of Architecture at School of Engineering, in Frederick University. He holds a Diploma in Architecture from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) and an MSc in Built Environment graduated from the Bartlett School of University College London (UCL). He also holds a postgraduate Diploma in Architecture from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is currently a PhD candidate at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and his research dissertation deals with energy and bioclimatic architecture issues. Since 2001 he has worked as an architect in London and Nicosia designing and supervising several architectural projects and he holds the position of a senior partner in the Architectural Practise of Georgios N. Georgiou & Sons. Since September 2009 he has been teaching in the Department of Architecture in the fields of Architectural Technology and Bioclimatic Architecture. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Architecture Association (CAA) for four years. As a member of the Board he was also responsible for European issues and for seven years, on a permanent basis, he was the representative of the Cyprus Architects Association at the European Conference for Architectural Policies. He also represented the CAA at the Scientific Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK) in the Architecture Specialty Committee as Vice President and the Architectural Policies Committee of Cyprus as Chairman. Apart from his occupation with all kinds of architectural works, he has been awarded a recommendation in the National Architectural Competition of the Municipal Theater of Paphos in collaboration with the architect Konstantinos Kypris.
