Beneficiaries receive “Innovation Vouchers,” which they redeem for specialized research and innovation services offered by participating organizations. Through this initiative, Frederick University has supported innovative start-ups driving technological progress and sustainability.

Innovation Competitions

The University actively encourages student participation in industry-sponsored competitions aimed at empowering the younger generation to contribute positively to the local society and economy. One such example is “HackAIthon: AI in Fintech”, one of the most significant hackathons in Cyprus. In the 2024 edition, two Frederick University students in the Computer Science and Computer Engineering programs, were part of the team that won. In the event 24 teams and over 70 participants from Cyprus and abroad, including professionals, competed. Another example is the ‘Next Generation proposals for a better Cyprus’ competition, co-organized in 2023 with Consulco, an investment management company. In this competition, undergraduate and postgraduate students proposed structural changes to enhance the investment sector in Cyprus, through extensive research and innovative ideas presented in comprehensive essays.
