Dr. Nicos Koussis is a Lecturer of Finance at Frederick University and holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Cyprus. He has been awarded a first prize grant from the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation for his PhD research, presented in numerous international conferences and has publications in refereed journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, European Journal of Finance and Annals of Operations Research. Dr. Koussis has been a visiting research fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has been a visiting instructor/reader at the University of California, Berkeley at the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and Masters in Financial Engineering programs. He has previously lectured at the University of Cyprus and he is currently teaching finance courses at undergraduate and graduate level at Frederick University. Dr. Koussis area of expertise is real options with applications in corporate finance. His current research focuses on optimal investment and financing decisions with default risk, analysis of systematic risk involving real options and mergers and acquisitions involving growth options with optimal capital structure.
