All you need to know
to apply

We want to make the application process as simple as possible for you, so below you can find guidance for each type of admission.

The Frederick University academic year consists of the Fall and Spring semesters. New students may start classes either during the last week of September or the first week of February. Candidates may apply for admission to any of the semesters.

Students are expected to be on campus prior to the beginning of the intended semester/session. In response to arising need, courses could be provided within the summer period.

Application deadlines for international students

Applications must reach the Admissions Office together with all the required documents by:

Before you Apply:
  • Choose your Program of Study. If you are unsure, our Advisors can provide study and career advice. You can also take the University’s career guidance test, Career Gate Test.
  • Check the application deadlines.
  • Check the specific entry requirements for your Program of Study.
  • Check the English language requirements.
  • International students - check additional requirements for student visa below.
  • Gather all necessary documents and information (i.e. CV, personal statement, transcripts). See checklist below.
  • Complete your application.

Applicants with Disabilities

Submitting your Application:
Submit your application through any of the following ways:
  • Option 1: Download and complete the application form in English or Greek and email it along with any necessary attachments. Ensure the email size is less than 10MB to ensure your application reaches us.
  • Option 2: Download and complete the application form in English or Greek, print it and send it by post along with all supporting documents.
  • Option 3: Download and complete the application form in English or Greek, print it and submit it along with all supporting documents by hand to the Admissions Office of either Nicosia or Limassol campus.
After you Apply
  • The University will review your application.
  • You will be notified if any other supporting documents are required.
  • If you receive an offer of admission on a program of study, you will be required to sign and forward to Frederick University an acceptance letter. By signing the acceptance letter, you deem to have agreed to abide by the rules and regulations of the University.
  • If a personal interview is required as part of a specific Program of Study’s admission process, you will be notified.
  • If the offer is conditional upon obtaining further educational qualifications, you will be asked to forward the relevant documents to the University as soon as the anticipated qualifications are obtained.
  • If you are a non-EU student, and you are approved for registration you will be guided for further actions needed to be made for the completion of your registration including payments and attestation of the documents.
  • If required, you will be asked to attend preparatory classes prior to the beginning of the semester.
  • You will be invited to attend the University’s orientation program.
Depending on the applicant’s nationality, and under immigration regulations, applicants should follow the relevant procedure and submit the required documents as described below:

Cypriot nationals

Cypriot nationals must submit to the Admission Office the following:

  1. A fully completed application form.
  2. An application fee of Euro 35 (non-refundable).
  3. Academic qualifications:
a. Copy of High School Leaving Certificate (will be photocopied and returned to the applicant).

b. Other qualifications (Copies. An Admissions officer will direct the applicant on the verification procedure).

  1. Evidence of proficiency in English (if applicable).

Furthermore, and upon acceptance, they must pay the registration fees, part of the semester tuition fees, and register to courses.

EU nationals

Candidates who are nationals of EU countries can enter Cyprus as visitors. On arrival at Frederick University they must submit to the Admission Office the following:

  1. A fully completed application form.
  2. An application fee of Euro 35 (non-refundable).
  3. Academic qualifications:
a. Copy of High School Leaving Certificate,

b. Other qualifications (Copies. An Admissions officer will direct the applicant on the verification procedure).

  1. Evidence of proficiency in English (if applicable).
  2. A photocopy of their passport or ID. The passport should be valid for at least two (2) years from the date of their arrival to Cyprus.
  3. A recent certificate of good conduct issued by the police of the candidate's country of origin or residence, if necessary translated in Greek or English. The good conduct certificate should be original and issued less than 6 months prior to the beginning of the semester for which the student is applying. The names and titles of the persons issuing and certifying the document should be clearly stated therein.

Furthermore, and upon acceptance, they must pay the registration fees, the semester tuition fees, and register to courses.

Next, they must apply to the Migration Department for a temporary residence permit. The application to the Migration Department must be supported by evidence that they have paid their tuition fees for the semester, have enough funds for their initial living expenses and have obtained local health insurance coverage.

Applications for the residence permit card, known as yellow slip, must be submitted within a period of 3 months (90 days) to the Cyprus Civil Registry and Migration Department. You can download the yellow slip document here (ENG / GR

Applicants from non-EU countries (international students)

Undergraduate programs

To apply for the program, please provide us with the documents below:

  1. A fully completed application form.
  2. An application fee of Euro 35 (non-refundable).
  3. Copy of Passport (Only pages showing passport information. The passport should be valid for at least the duration of the programme of study or at least two (2) years, whichever period is shorter).
  4. Copy of your High School Leaving Certificate.
  5. Transcripts and syllabus (ONLY for transfer prospective students).
  6. Evidence of proficiency in English *.

Please note all required documents are mandatory for the application to be reviewed.

Postgraduate programs

To apply for the program, please provide us with the documents below:

  1. A fully completed application form
  2. An application fee of Euro 35 (non-refundable).
  3. Copy of your Passport (Only pages showing passport information. The passport should be valid for at least the duration of the programme of study or at least two (2) years, whichever period is shorter).
  4. Copy of your High School Leaving Certificate.
  5. Copy of your Bachelor’s Degree / Transcripts.
  6. 2-3 Reference Letters.
  7. CV.
  8. Personal statement explaining the reason that you want to study this program.
  9. Evidence of proficiency in English *.

International students applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate program of study must provide sufficient evidence of English language proficiency as per the below accredited examinations:

The Certificate needs to be from one of the above organizations that are approved by the Ministry of Education and the Migration Department. Without the proof of English, we will not be able to proceed as the Migration Department will not approve your student visa application.

In the event that you don’t have any of the above pre-approved certifications, you can choose to take the Password Test, also approved by the Ministry of Education, to obtain the Proof of English Certification and fulfil the proof of English requirement in order to proceed with your application. Frederick University is able to deliver and facilitate the Password Test. Student Visa Application Process

Non-EU applicants must issue a student visa to be eligible to study in Cyprus. The student visa process has two separate phases.

Step 1:

Once the Conditional Acceptance Letter is issued by the University, the prospective student will have to submit the following documents to the International Admissions Office, first via email and, upon approval, via courier, in order to obtain an Entry Permit. The Entry Permit is the first phase of obtaining your student visa, and has to be presented at the airport in order to be able to travel to Cyprus as a student. These are the required documents in order to obtain the Entry Permit:

  1. Original, attested passport copy. It must be valid for 2 years.
  2. Original, attested copy of High School Leaving Certificate and grade report.
  3. Original, attested proof of English Certificate.
  4. Original, attested Police Clearance Certificate that is valid for 6 months - A recent certificate of good conduct issued by the police of the candidate's country of origin or residence, if necessary translated in Greek or English. The good conduct certificate should be original and issued less than 6 months prior to the beginning of the semester for which the student is applying. The names and titles of the persons issuing and certifying the document should be clearly stated therein.
  5. Original, attested bank letter showing that the student’s sponsor has the financial ability to support tuition fees and living expenses. It must be valid for 6 months.
  6. Original, attested bank statement which clearly shows the minimum amount of €7,000 in the sponsor’s account, which is valid for 1 month - Attested letter from a bank in the country of origin or residence stating that the student or his/her parent (s) – full names to be mentioned - have the financial capability to cover the cost of living and studying in Cyprus, and the student’s repatriation cost, as well as recent bank statement showing a balance of at least €7000 (seven thousand Euro).
  7. Original, attested chest X-ray report for Tuberculosis. It must be valid for 4 months. (Actual x-ray not needed).
  8. Original, attested blood test results for HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B and C. They must be valid for 4 months.
  9. Attested document of parental consent for the student’s proposed stay in Cyprus. The document must be officially translated in Greek or English. It is required only for applicants below the age of 18 years (minors).

Step 2:

Once the prospective student has arrived in Cyprus with the Entry Permit, the student must present to the University’s International Admissions Office in order to submit documentation to obtain their Student Visa. The student has 15 days from the day of arrival to submit all required documents to Migration Services through the International Admissions Office. These are required documents:

  1. Application Form M61 (From the Admissions office)
  2. Passport Copies (Including the page with the arrival date)
  3. Bank Guarantee of Academic Institution (From the Admissions office)
  4. Original (Blue) Entry Permit (From the Admissions office)
  5. Registration Letter (From the Admissions office)
  6. Original Medical Examinations (Stamped and signed by a doctor)
  7. HBV (Hep. B)
  8. HCV (Hep. C
  9. VDRL (Syphilis)
  10. HIV / AIDS
  11. X-Ray / TB
  12. Health Insurance (for 1 year)
  13. Bank Statement (That shows balance of at least €1000)
  14. Accommodation (or House) Contract for 1 year
  15. Authorization Form (From the Admissions office)
  16. Migration Fees 104.17 Euro (You will pay this amount in person)

Delays in submission beyond 15 days may result in the cancellation of your visa. The International Office is here to help provide new students resources in order to help them obtain documents in a timely manner.

Additionally, please note your visa will have to be renewed once per year and all documentation must be submitted one month prior to your student visa expiration date. Please email adminfo@frederick.ac.cy in order to obtain a Student Visa Renewal Checklist two months prior to your student visa expiration date.

Attestation of Documents

International students are required to have all supporting documents attested (certified to be correct) by the authorities in their home country. The attestation process varies between countries who have signed the Hague Convention of 1961 (Apostille) and those who have not. Detailed information regarding the attestation will be included in the Acceptance Letter.
