Our university supports the AEI Film Festival
This year's Archaeological, Ethnographic and Historical Documentary Film Festival (AEI Film Festival) will take place at the Centre of Visual Arts and Research (CVAR), located on Ermou Street, within the walled city of Nicosia, from 26 October to 3 November.
The event is expected to attract hundreds of documentary fans as well as artists, creators and jury members from Cyprus and other countries. During the nine days of the AEI Film Festival, it is a given that the old town of Nicosia will be the focal point for dozens of people of letters and arts.
This year's event will be the seventh consecutive edition of the AEI Film Festival which has established itself as an important institution of the cultural pillar of audiovisual art in Cyprus and will feature documentaries from Cyprus as well as from the Netherlands, Greece, Australia, Spain, France, Italy, Romania, UK, USA etc.
The AEI Film Festival is organized by the non-profit cultural organization AEI AUDIOVISUAL FORUM and its institutional sponsor is the Cyprus Ministry of Culture through the program CULTURE and CYPRIA.
The AEI Film Festival emphasizes the promotion of quality films with themes that fall within the triptych of Archaeology, Ethnography and History (AEI) which highlight the richness of the cultural heritage of Cyprus and other countries. It gains recognition by the European Festivals Association (EFA) and it is the only film festival of its kind in Cyprus.
Frederick University has signed a memorandum of understanding with the AEI Film Festival and supports the effort to bring qualilty documentaries on screen.
