Circular Bioeconomy Workshop to be held at the new Nicosia City Hall on May 29th

Frederick University together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment and Department of Environment, under the auspices of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU, are co-organizing the Circular Bioeconomy Workshop on Friday, 29 May.

The workshop will be held at the Conference and Events Hall of the new Nicosia City Hall from 09:00 to 15:00.

This one-day workshop will provide a structured platform for learning and dialogue on the development and implementation of bioeconomy policies and practices, highlighting both the European perspective and national priorities.

Key topics include Circular Bioeconomy and its benefits; policies and strategies; best practices; funding opportunities. 

The event will bring together stakeholders from the policy sector, academia, research, and industry, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration towards a sustainable and circular economy.

The event is also organised within the framework of the BioINSouth research project, which aims to support decision-makers in integrating ecological limits into regional bioeconomy strategies and roadmaps related to circular bio-based activities.

Dr. Maria Panayiotou, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment and Ms Emmanuelle Maire, Head of Unit for Circular Economy, Sustainable Production & Consumption at DG ENV of the European Commission, will address the event.
