Frederick University to host seminar on Alzheimer’s Disease: From Diagnosis to Care

The Department of Psychology and Social Sciences and the Department of Nursing at Frederick University, in collaboration with the Cyprus Nurses and Midwives Association, are organising a seminar entitled “Alzheimer’s Disease: From Diagnosis to Care.”

The seminar will take place on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Events Hall of Frederick University’s Limassol campus (18 Marios Agathangelou Street, Agios Georgios Havouzas).

Ms Natassa Frederickou, President of the Council of Frederick University, will address the event, which aims to offer a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to Alzheimer’s disease, covering topics ranging from diagnosis and cognitive changes to the everyday challenges of care. It will also highlight the importance of early recognition, appropriate management, and holistic, person-centred care.

The seminar is intended for healthcare professionals, caregivers, students and graduates in neurology, psychology, nursing and other related fields, as well as members of the wider public.

The speakers will be:

  • Dr Stefani Pantelidou, Lecturer in Cognitive Psychology, Department of Psychology and Social Sciences, Frederick University.
  • Ms Margarita Georgallidou, PhD Candidate, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Cyprus University of Technology (CUT).
  • Professor Emeritus Savvas Papacostas, Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics.
  • Dr Melina Evripidou, Lecturer, Department of Nursing, Frederick University.

Participants will receive 1.95 International Continuing Nursing Education Units.
