A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between ARIS - A Really Inspiring Space, and Frederick University, marking a significant collaboration aimed at fostering the transfer of knowledge and identifying common ground to implement initiatives in innovation and entrepreneurship.

The collaboration reinforces the efforts to bridge the gap between industry and academia, and to strengthen the ties between the university community and businesses.

More specifically, the two organisations will team up to develop the entrepreneurial skills of Frederick University students and enhance youth innovation and entrepreneurship through joint workshops, EU-funded projects, and other relevant activities.

“This MoU signifies the shared commitment by ARIS and Frederick University to strengthen the entrepreneurial, innovative ecosystem in Cyprus, through knowledge transfer, exchanges, projects execution, organization of joint events and visits, as well as networking opportunities between the ARIS team, start-ups, alumni as well as faculty and research staff at Frederick University" noted Mr George Martidis, a member of the ARIS Board of Directors.

President of Frederick University's Council, Ms Natassa Frederickou, who signed the MoU on behalf of the University, stated: "We are delighted to be able to closely collaborate with an Accelerator programme that actively provides support and dedication to start-ups and scale-ups to grow their business and broadens our students' horizons to experience entrepreneurship regardless of the area or field of their studies. Equipping our students with valuable skills, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, enhancing innovation, and providing personalized real-world experiences are embedded in our renowned student-centric approach, which empowers them to take ownership of their learning and future career paths”.

ARIS is a non-profit organisation established in association with Deloitte Cyprus, with the aim to support start-ups that want to accelerate their projects and their go-to-market as well as scale-ups that need support to grow and expand their business further. ARIS is an important stakeholder in the local innovation community and an important contributor to its development and maturity.
