Dr Nikolaos Kordalis is a member of Special Teaching Staff in the Department of Nursing at Frederick University since 2018 where he has assumed supportive teaching duties in the undergraduate course of general surgery. He is also a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon on Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus In Limassol. He graduated from the University of Patras School of Medicine in 1997 and completed a one-year internship at the Hospital of Amaliada Department of Surgery and continued his training on a five-year Orthopaedic Residency program at the University Hospital of Ioannina (2002 to 2007). During the five years , Dr Kordalis followed a resident rotation system and received training in the areas of General Orthopaedics, Traumatology, Pediatric Orthopaedics, Adult Reconstructive Surgery, Hand Surgery, Microsurgery, Spine Surgery, and Sports Medicine under the supervision of Professor PN Soucacos (until 2003), Professor T Xenakis, Professor A Beris and Professor A Georgoulis. He concentrated his surgical and research interests in the fields of Musculoskeletal infections, Bone Metabolism and osteoporosis, Microsurgery, Hand Surgery, and Sports Medicine and displayed excellent surgical skills combined with an in-depth knowledge of these fields. Dr Kordalis has displayed considerable organization skills as a member of the organization committee of numerous Microsurgery, Hand Surgical Anatomy and Bone Metabolism Seminars.During his University years Dr Kordalis was involved with any educational activity and seminar about trauma and emergency medicine and he received his ATLS (Advance Trauma Life Support) card on June 2000 (Committee on Trauma-American College of Surgeons). On 2010 he competed the post graduated program for Doctors in Emergency Prehospital Medicine by National Emergency Center of Greece and during his practice in medicine in several public and private Hospitals in Greece and Cyprus he spent several weeks in establishment and organization of educational programs for nurses and young doctors on accident and emergency medicine. In addition to his clinical and academic interests in Surgery, Orthopaedics, Infections in surgery and orthopaedics, Study of bone metabolism, Accident and emergency medicine, he is active in the field of humanitarian Medicine (with voluntary medical assistance in Albania and Africa) and participated in several non-governmental organizations. Dr Kordalis is a member of several scientific institutes and societies in Greece and Cyprus
