Ο Δρ. Στέλιος Ηλία είναι μέλος του Ειδικού Διδακτικού Προσωπικού στο Τμήμα Επιστημών Ζωής και Υγείας του πανεπιστημίου Frederick και ασκεί επικουρικό διδακτικό έργο στο πτυχίο Φυσικοθεραπείας στα μαθήματα Φυσιολογία και Ορθοπαιδική - Τραυματολογία - Γενική Χειρουργική. Απέκτησε το πτυχίο Ιατρικής από το Τμήμα Ιατρικής του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης το 2015. Έπειτα από εξαετή εκπαίδευσή στη Γενική Χειρουργική του Γενικού Νοσοκομείου Λεμεσού, εξασφάλισε τον τίτλο της ειδικότητας του Γενικού Χειρουργού μετά από επιτυχή αξιολόγηση από τον Πανελλήνιο Ιατρικό Σύλλογο. Αυτά τα έξι χρόνια ασχολήθηκε με την εκπαίδευση φοιτητών Ιατρικής και Νοσηλευτικής του Πανεπιστημίου Λευκωσίας και Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου. Παράλληλα απέκτησε μεταπτυχιακό δίπλωμα (MSc) στη Διοίκηση Μονάδων Υγείας του Πανεπιστήμιου Λευκωσίας και Πανεπιστημιακό Δίπλωμα (DU) στον Χειρουργικό Υπέρηχο του Πανεπιστημίου του Στρασβούργου. Ο ιατρός ασκεί το επάγγελμα του Γενικού Χειρουργού σε ιδιωτική κλινική στη Λεμεσό, με ειδικό ενδιαφέρον στις παθήσεις Θυρεοειδούς, Παχέος Εντέρου, Πρωκτού, Μαστού, Κοιλιακού τοιχώματος και στην Λαπαροσκοπική Χειρουργική. Παράλληλα διατελεί αθλίατρος ποδοσφαιρικών και άλλων ομάδων παρέχοντας πρώτες βοήθειες και αποκατάσταση σε αθλητές. Έχει συνεχή παρουσία στα πιο σημαντικά ετήσια διεθνή και πανελλήνια χειρουργικά συνέδρια με αρκετές ομιλίες και παρουσιάσεις τα τελευταία χρόνια, ενώ έχει λάβει και πιστοποιήσεις από το American College of Surgeons, το European Resuscitation Council (ERC), το International Breast Ultrasound School (IBUS) και την Ελληνική Χειρουργική Εταιρεία.

Dr. Stelios Ilia is a member of the Special Teaching Staff at the Department of Life and Health Sciences at Frederick University and is an adjunct lecturer in the Physiotherapy degree in the courses Physiology and Orthopedics - Traumatology - General Surgery. He obtained his medical degree from the Department of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. After a 6-year training in General Surgery at Limassol General Hospital, he was entitled as a General Surgeon Consultant, after a successful evaluation by the Panhellenic Medical Association. During these six years, he was involved in the education of Medical and Nursing students at the University of Nicosia and the Cyprus University of Technology. Meanwhile, he obtained a Master's Degree (MSc) in Health Services Administration from the University of Nicosia and a University Diploma (DU) in Surgical Ultrasound from the University of Strasbourg. The doctor practices General Surgery at a private clinic in Limassol, with a special interest in Thyroid, Colon, Anus, Breast, Abdominal wall diseases, and Laparoscopic Surgery. At the same time, he is a sports physician for football and other teams, providing first aid and rehabilitation to athletes. He has a constant presence, at the most important annual international and PanHellenic surgical conferences, with several speeches and presentations in recent years. At the same time, he has also received certifications from the American College of Surgeons, the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), the International Breast Ultrasound School (IBUS), and the Hellenic Surgical Society.
