Seminar on Alzheimer's disease to be held at Frederick University, Limassol

The Department of Psychology and Social Sciences of Frederick University and the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences of the Cyprus University of Technology are organizing a seminar titled “Alzheimer’s Disease: The Power of Prevention” in Limassol.
The event, which will be addressed by Dr. Nataly Loizidou-Ieridou, Head of the Department of Psychology and Social Sciences at Frederick University, will take place on Thursday, October 30, from 09:30 to 11:45, at Frederick University in Limassol.

Dr. Stephanie Pantelidou, Lecturer in Cognitive Psychology at the Department of Psychology and Social Sciences, Frederick University, and Dr. Nikos Constantinou, Associate Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Cyprus University of Technology, will welcome the participants to the seminar, which focuses on the importance of preventive measures for the early detection of the disease and on raising awareness about ways to support patients.

The event is addressed to health professionals, caregivers, students, and graduates of Medicine, Psychology, and related disciplines, as well as to the general public interested in this topic.

A series of talks and presentations (in greek) will follow:

- Ms. Margarita Georgallidou, Research Scientist at the Department of Psychology and Social Sciences, Frederick University, and PhD Candidate at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Cyprus University of Technology, will speak on “Disorientation Disorders: An Early Sign of Alzheimer’s Disease.”

- Dr. Nikolas Avgeris, Neurologist at Mediterranean Hospital in Limassol, will discuss the prevention and treatment of the disease.

- Dr. Melina Evripidou, Lecturer in Nursing at the Department of Health Sciences, Frederick University, will present a study exploring the care competencies of health professionals for Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias.

A discussion will follow, moderated by Dr. Stephanie Pantelidou.
