Gender Equality Journalism Awards 2025 were presented at the Presidential Palace
As part of its initiatives to achieve gender equality, Frederick University collaborated with the Office of the Commissioner for Gender Equality, the Cyprus Journalists’ Association, the Authority for Radio Broadcasting and Digital Services, and the Press Ethics Committee to establish the Gender Equality Journalism Awards.
The aim of the awards is to serve as an incentive for the practice of journalism with sensitivity and responsibility, so that it can act as a catalyst for social change.
“This is a matter that concerns all of us—women and men as allies on this journey. Equal representation in the media, in decision-making centers, in politics, science, and entrepreneurship is an indication of progress,” stated the Commissioner for Gender Equality, Ms. Josie Christodoulou, in her speech during the awards ceremony.
The ceremony took place on Tuesday, 11 November, at the Presidential Palace, in the presence of the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Marios Hartsiotis.
