Members of the Department of Law at the 23rd International Scientific Conference “Law Days" in Serbia

Dr Konstantinos Kouroupis, Associate Professor at the Department of Law, and George Christofides, Special Teaching Staff member of the Department and PhD candidate, participated in the 23rd International Scientific Conference in memory of Prof. Slavko Carić, held in Novi Sad, Serbia.

The Conference was organised by the Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary of the University Business Academy in Novi Sad.

Under the central theme “Law between Doctrine and Digital Reality – Transformation of Law in Digital Society,” the conference brought together academic perspectives on the evolving relationship between law, technology and society.

As part of the conference, Dr Kouroupis and Mr Christofides presented their joint research paper entitled: “Judicial Transformation in the Age of AI: A Functional Classification Approach to Judicial Independence, Transparency and Professional Responsibility.”

Their research explores how artificial intelligence is transforming the judiciary, proposing a functional classification of AI applications and examining their implications for judicial independence, transparency and professional responsibility. The paper has also been published in the corresponding academic volume, which is now available.

Their participation provided a valuable opportunity to share research findings, exchange ideas with the international academic community and strengthen scholarly connections on the emerging challenges facing justice systems in the age of artificial intelligence.

Frederick University extends its sincere thanks to the University Business Academy and the conference organisers for the excellent organisation, high academic standards and timely focus of this important scientific event.
